CORINTH, Texas - The Saint Leo women's golf team opened play at the Dallas Baptist Classic with a team score of 300 (+12), finishing the first round tied for 11th in a competitive field on Monday.
Freshman
Maria Jaime paced the Lions with an impressive 71 (-1) and currently sits tied for fourth in the 83-golfer field.
Behind Jaime, sophomore
Iza Stahlevi turned in a 75 (+3) for a share of 41st following the opening round which featured birdies on 17 and 18 to close out the evening.
Both senior
Ana Valentina-Guarderas and redshirt senior
Maya Cote each posted 77 (+5) as they are tied for 55th. Rounding out the lineup was freshman
McKenzee Sullivan, who recorded a 79 (+7), as her front nine featured a pair of birdies.
With two rounds still to play, Saint Leo returns tomorrow morning, Tuesday, September 23 to close out the DBU Classic with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m.
