#16 Women's Golf Heads to Regionals for Second Consecutive Year

SAINT LEO, Fla. – #16 Saint Leo University women's golf secured its spot in the 2025 NCAA Division II South Regional championship field. The Lions are one of 18 teams selected to the regional. The three-day tournament will take place May 5-7 at the Chattahoochee Golf Club in Gainesville, Ga. hosted by the University of North Georgia.

The Lions head into the regional tournament with eight top 10 finishes, six top five finishes and four top three finishes. Olivia Deakins highlighted the team's success as she earned All-SSC first team honors. The junior posted a career low, 66 (-6) in the final round at the Lynn Invite. She also was named SSC Golfer of the Week following a fourth-place finish at the LeeAnn Noble Memorial.
 
Freshman Iza Stahlevi posted four top 15 finishes, highlighted by a career fifth place finish at the Lady Moc Classic. She carded par in the two-round tournament posting a career low 67 (-5) in the opening round.
 
Madeleine Pytura has a 75.7 stroke average across 31 rounds in 11 tournaments. Her best finishes this season came in the three of the final four tournaments highlighted by an 11th place finish at the Spring Fling.
 
Pia Perthen enters the regional with a 75.6 stroke average as she posted a pair of top-five finishes. In the final tournament of the fall, Perthen shot one-over as she carded a -2 in the final for her season low to finish in a tie for fourth place. Her best finish on the leaderboard in 2024-25 came at the Georgia State Invitational where she shot one under in the opening round and finished in third-place.
