SAINT LEO, Fla. – The 13th-ranked Saint Leo University acrobatics and tumbling team suffered a hard fought defeat at home on senior day to #2 Quinnipiac University on Sunday. Saint Leo kept the meet close all throughout but ultimately fell 265.520 to 252.885 in the Marion Bowman Center.
Prior to the announcement of the final scores the Lions honored their senior class of 2025. Recognized for their contributions to the program was

Hanna Hanulik,
Gianni Peralta,
Mackenna Kunitzer,
Kerin Spadaro,
Eliza Espinal, Kaelyn Burns, and
Abbie Baker.
The Lions opened the meet winning three of four heats in the compulsory dropping one the toss category. The Green and Gold registered a 8.90 in the acro heat followed by a 9.60 in the pyramid and an 9.75 in the toss heat. The Lions held a slight advantage over the Bobcats after the first event leading 36.700 to 36.450.
Quinnipiac started to pull the meet in its direction during the acro portion of the meet. Saint Leo claimed the third heat with 9.90 as Quinnipiac took the event 28.80 to 28.05. Heat one posted a 9.35 and heat two scored an 8.80. The Bobcats took their first lead of the meet, 65.250 to 64.750.
The pyramid event closed the margin of deficit to less than one for the Lions winning two of three heats. Heat one went to the visitors before the Lions took heat two with a 9.70 score and then posted a 9.90 in the final heat. Saint Leo's deficit stood at 94.550-94.100.
In the toss event, the Bobcats took all three heats by wide margins as including a 9.700 to 9.100 in the first heat. Saint Leo posted an 8.950 in the second heat and a 9.350 in the third heat. Going into the tumbling event, Quinnipiac led 123.540-121.500.
The tumbling event saw the Bobcats grow their lead to nearly six points as they claimed all but one heat. Saint Leo won the final heat 9.675 to 9.525.
Quinnipiac claimed the team event by a slight margin, 87.120 to 80.760 en route to a victory over the Lions, 265.520 to 252.880.

The Lions are on the road for the remainder of the season with four meets remaining. Next up is a trip to South Carolina for a midweek meet at Converse on March 19 before heading over to Presbyterian to meet the Blue Hose for the second time in 2025.
