SAINT LEO, Fla. - Head women's basketball coach Charles Marshall has announced Chris Severini as his assistant coach, entering a new era of women's basketball at Saint Leo. Severini comes to the program with over a decade of coaching experience. 

"Coach Chris Severini, brings, a wealth of knowledge and a ton of success on the high school level. He's a winner! He also brings instant credit identifying and recruiting the best local high school kids in the area. I am excited to add Coach to the family!" Head coach Charles Marshall says.  

Severini has spent the past 12 years as a head coach in the high school ranks, accumulating over 200 wins, including five 20 win seasons, two district championships, and six regional playoff appearances. 

Originally a New York native, Severini relocated to Florida where he completed his completed his undergraduate degree at fellow SSC school, the University of Tampa. He still lived in Tampa with his wife Sara, and two young children, Nolan and RJ.  

"I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to join Saint Leo's women's basketball program and I want to thank Coach Marshall for believing in me. I am looking forward to the challenges ahead while helping build a winning tradition and elevating this program to new heights" Severini said.
