Men's Cross Country Places 9th, Women 6th at Sunshine State Conference Championship

LAKELAND, Fla. - Saint Leo University cross country competed at the 2025 Sunshine State conference championship at Holloway Park hosted by the University of Tampa. The men's team placed ninth and the women's team took ninth.  

The women's team opened the day with the meet with their second 6000m of the season. Senior Rachel Jarrett led the way with a personal best of 22:54.1, placing 24th overall 

Jarrett was followed by freshman Delaney Glynn in 25:17.3, also a personal best. Junior Dakotah Medows followed close behind with 25:28.2, another a personal best by over two minutes.  

Rounding out the scoring for the Lions was freshmen Alexis Morgan and Maria Tejada, with times of 26:05.3 and 26:52.9 respectively.  

The women's team placed sixth with 206 points. 

The men's 8000m race took off and once again saw freshman Paul Rivera lead the pride, this time with a personal best of 26:51.7. 

Rivera was followed by freshman trio Angelo Acosta, Jordan Seymore, and Santiago Rodriguez with times of 28:30.1, 28:53.6, and 29:26.1. Personal bests for Acosta and Seymore. The final scorer for the harriers was freshman Jevin Luna, who also ran a career best of 29:32.4. 

The men's team placed 9th with 245 points.  

The lions now look to the NCAA DII South Regional meet on Nov. 8.
