SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo University women's soccer team erupted for a season-high five goals on 19 total shots, including 10 on target, to defeat Edward Waters 5-3 at University Turf Stadium on Tuesday evening. First half goals by
Ilaria Miclet,
Kristina Arwady, and
Rhyanne Pascoe gave the Lions a 3-0 halftime lead. Despite a trio of goals by the opposition in the second half, goals from
Olivia Schuck and
Chloe Froese kept the home team in front to earn its second win in a row. With the victory the Lions improve to 3-7-1 overall.

Chloe Froese, while six different players contributed assists. Goalkeepers
Emma Guidotti and Soley Larusdottir combined for four saves in the victory.
How It Happened: SAINT LEO 5, EDWARD WATERS 3
Saint Leo came out firing, scoring three times in the opening half to take early control.
Ilaria Miclet put the Lions on the board in the 5th minute, finishing a pass from
Ella Van Doren to make it 1-0. Just three minutes later,
Kristina Arwady doubled the advantage off an assist from
Ruari Dever. The Lions extended their lead to 3-0 in the 31st minute when
Rhyanne Pascoe found the back of the net following a setup from
Samara Johnson.
Edward Waters responded shortly after halftime as Alyssa Wright scored in the 46th minute, and Dadie Cherenfant added another in the 54th to cut the deficit to 3-2. Saint Leo regained momentum in the 75th minute when
Olivia Schuck netted her first goal of the season on a feed from
Jordan Mazzei. Following Cherenfant's second goal of the game in the 78th,
Chloe Froese capped the scoring two minutes later, finishing a combination from
Katja May and
Julia Gonsman to seal the 5-3 victory at home.
