LAKELAND, Fla. – #15  Saint Leo University women's tennis team opened the fall portion of its 2024-25 schedule at the ITA Regional Championships in Lakeland on Sunday. Claudia Borbon Roca, Luzia Obermeier, Catherine Rabatin, Camila Keller, and Kamilya Shailina all competed in singles play for the Lions. Borbon Roca, Obermeier, Shailina, and Rabatin made their season debuts in the doubles bracket.

SINGLES

• Borbon Roca defeated PBA's Ada Brown in straight sets in the round of 64. After an opening set 6-3 win over her opponent from Embry-Riddle, she fell in the tiebreaker.
• Obermeier dropped to the consolation bracket after falling in the tiebreaker set to her opponent from Lee in the round of 64. She followed that with an 8-3 victory over Claire Bosman (SHC) to advance to the consolation round of 16.
• Rabatin lost her opening match up in straight sets dropping her to the consolation bracket. Rabatin's 8-4 win in the consolation round of 32 quarterfinals advanced her to the consolation round of 16 where she will face FSC's Ronja Scheuermann.
• Keller opened with a round of 64 victory over Mississippi College's Rocio Martinez Azcarraga before dropping both sets to Olivia Bryant of Florida Southern in the round of 32.  
• Shailina won her opening set 7-5 before falling 6-1 and 10-5 in the tiebreaker set. In the consolation round of 32 quarterfinals, Shailina defeated Montevallo's Claire Jaramba to advance to the consolation round of 16 to take on Laura Cuesta Bret (ERAU).

DOUBLES

• Both of Saint Leo's doubles pairs fell in the opening round. Borbon Roca and Obermeier fell to the consolation bracket after losing the tiebreaker.
• Shailina and Rabatin lost 8-5 to drop to the consolation bracket.
• The consolation round of 16 quarterfinals will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday morning.
