Talladega, Ala. – The Saint Leo University acrobatics and tumbling team earned a pair of wins on Friday night after posting a 254.310 score for wins over 254.310 victory on the road against East Texas Baptist (165.92) and the host Talladega College (207.84) on Friday night. The Green and Gold set a season high in total scoring in the tri-meet.
In the compulsory event, the Green and Gold swept all the heats with a 9.1-8.3-3.85 margin in the acro heat followed by a 9.65-9.3-4.2 win in the pyramid heat. The Lions won the toss heat by a 9.75-9.45-8.3 margin before secured the category with a 6.25-2.0-2.9 victory in the tumbling heat. Heading into the acro event, Saint Leo led 34.75-29.05-19.25 over both teams.
During the acro event, the Lions registered scores of 9.15, 8.65, and 9.7 respectively to claim each heat and edge East Texas and Talladega with a category score of 27.5-23.3-15.95 as the Green and Gold grasped a 62.25-52.35-35.20 advantage going to the pyramid event.
In the pyramid event, Saint Leo tallied a score of 9.15 in the inversion heat followed by a total of 9.45 in the synchronized heat before registering a 9.9 in the open heat. After the pyramid event, Saint Leo stretched its lead to an 90.75-74.85-58.5 margin.
During the toss event, Saint Leo notched a total of 26.45 while the Tigers scored 24.85, followed ny the Tornadoes with a score of 20.05 as the Green and Gold expanded their advantage to 117.2-104.7-78.55.
The Lions swept the tumbling event with scores of 7.95 in the duo and trio pass followed by a total of 8.3 in the quad pass. In the aerial pass, the Green and Gold posted a score of 7.3 before hitting a mark of 9.45 in the six-element pass. Going into the final event, the Lions controlled a 168.15-139.7-116.9 lead.
In the team event, Saint Leo earned a score of 86.16 followed by East Texas scoring 68.14 and Talladega notching a 49.02 score as the Lions secured the victory 254.310-207.84-165.92.

Saint Leo returns to the mat Thursday, April 11 for its final home match of the season at the Marion Bowman Activities Center. Following the match and prior to announcing the scores the Lions will honor its seniors. The match against Presbyterian will begin at 6:00 p.m.
