LAKELAND, Fla. – The 14th-ranked Saint Leo University women's tennis team fell in the first round of the 2024 Sunshine State Conference women's tennis championship. The Lions dropped a 4-0 match to the three-seed #1 Nova Southeastern in Lakeland on Friday morning. Saint Leo falls to 14-9 on the season.
The Sharks opened the match with a pair of 6-1 doubles victories to clinch the doubles point.
Nova Southeastern picked up singles wins at one, three, and six to clinch the match and advance to the semifinal round.
