MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – The 12th-ranked Saint Leo men's golf team finished runner-up in The Battle at the Shores, hosted by Barry at Normandy Shores Golf Club as senior
Alex Heck was the individual champion with a score of 203 (10-under).
Heck tallied scores of under par in all three rounds as he posted a 66 in the opening round followed by a 69 in the second and a 68 in the third to capture the individual trophy by a two-stroke margin.
Graduate student
Jake Nash tied for sixth as he fired a 208 (five-under) that featured a score of 66 in the first round, 73 in the second, and a 69 during the final round. Sophomore
Enzo Barbaglia placed tied for 24th in the 93-player field as he recorded a 213 (even). Senior
Adrian Soriano shot a 217 (four-over) as he finished tied for 40th while freshman
Marshall Bath carded a 223 (10-over) and tied for 66th.
Competing as individuals from the Lions were graduate student
Brendan Porter and junior
Kyle Freudeman. Porter notched a 221 (eight-over) and tied for 60th while Freudeman registered a 234 (21-over).
Saint Leo returns to action on Saturday, April 20 as it competes in the first day of the Sunshine State Conference Championship at the Osprey Point Golf Club in Boca Raton, Fla.
