SAINT LEO, Fla. – The fourth-ranked Saint Leo women's tennis team registered a 6-1 victory at home against Ferris State in non-conference action on Thursday evening.
The Lions swept the doubles matches to claim the doubles point, while in singles competition, the Green and Gold won five of the six matches.
In the first doubles match, junior
Luzia Obermeier and senior
Lavinia Lancellotti earned a 6-1 victory followed by junior
Claudia Borbon Roca and freshman
Catherine Rabatin collecting a 6-2 win in the second doubles position. Rounding out the doubles matches in the third spot was junior
Kamilya Shailina and freshman
Madelyn Martin winning by a 6-3 margin.
During singles competition, Lancellotti (6-3, 7-5) picked up a win in #1 singles. Borbon Roca tallied a 5-7, 6-4, 10-8 victory in the second slot followed by Shailina collecting a 6-2, 6-3 win in #3 singles. Sophomore
Camila Keller posted a 6-1, 6-0 victory in fourth singles while Rabatin claimed fifth singles by a 7-6, 6-2 margin.
