DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – In a battle between two top-20 teams, the 13th-ranked Saint Leo women's tennis team collected a 6-1 road victory over 16th-ranked Embry-Riddle on Wednesday afternoon in Sunshine State Conference (SSC) action.

After dropping the first doubles match, the Lions rallied back and secured the doubles point by winning the second and third doubles matchups. Junior Claudia Borbon Roca and freshman Catherine Rabatin registered a 6-0 shutout in the second doubles position while junior Kamilya Shailina and freshman Madelyn Martin notched a 6-4 victory in the third doubles slot.

During singles competition, Saint Leo controlled the matchups as it won five of the six singles matches. In first singles, junior Luzia Obermeier posted a 6-2, 6-3 win followed by senior Lavinia Lancellotti earning a 7-5, 6-4 victory at second singles. Borbon Roca posted a 6-3, 6-2 win at third singles before Shailina collected a 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) victory at fourth singles. Rounding out the wins for Saint Leo in the singles matches was Rabatin with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 triumphed in the sixth singles spot.
