VALDOSTA, Ga. – The ninth-ranked Saint Leo men's golf team finished in 13th place at the First Federal Southeastern Challenge at the Kinderlou Forest Golf Club, hosted by Valdosta State, on Tuesday. The Lions carded an 881in the three rounds with a 300 in the first followed by a 288 in the second and a 293 in the last round.
The Lions were led by graduate student
Brendan Porter, who carded a 218 (two-over) for the tournament as he tied for 28th place. Porter fired a 76 before scoring consecutive 71s in the last two rounds. Sophomore
Enzo Barbaglia notched a 221 (five-over) as he tied for 45th followed by graduate student
Jake Nash and senior
Alex Heck, who recorded a 223 (seven-over) each. Rounding out the Lions' scorers was senior
Adrian Soriano who tallied a 228 (12-over).
Competing as an individual for the Green and Gold was freshman
Marshall Bath, who carded a 218 (two-over) to place tied for 28th in the 90-golfer field.
Nova Southern won the first-place team trophy with a final score of 852 (12-under) while Michael Hay from Nova Southern earned the individual trophy by firing a 209 (seven-under).
Saint Leo returns to the links on Monday, March 18 as it competes in the opening day of the Bobcat Invitational at Cuscowilla Resort, hosted by Georgia College & State University.
