SAINT LEO, Fla. – In a battle of two top-five teams, the fourth-ranked Saint Leo women's tennis won by a 4-3 margin versus fifth-ranked Washburn in non-conference action on Thursday afternoon.
Junior
Luzia Obermeier and senior
Lavinia Lancellotti registered a 6-1 win in the first doubles slot, however, the Ichabods claimed the remaining two doubles matches to clinch the doubles point.
In the singles competition, Washburn won the first singles position. The Lions won the following four matches to earn the overall victory. Obermeier notched a 7-5, 7-6 win in the second singles match before Lancellotti tallied a 6-1, 6-3 victory in third singles. Junior
Kamilya Shailina won by a 6-2, 7-5 margin in fourth singles while sophomore Camilia Keller posted a 6-0, 6-1 win in the fifth singles position.
