Beach Volleyball Opens 2024 With Back-to-Back 5-0 Victories

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo University beach volleyball opened the 2024 season with a pair of 5-0 decisions at home on Wednesday. The Lions opened the day with a 5-0 blanking of Southeastern University before defeating Webber International University by the same mark.

In the opening match against Southeastern, Saint Leo won all five pairs in straight sets. LeeAnn Potter and Emma Miller had the largest set margin of victory as they defeated their opponents 21-5 in the final set.

Against Webber, Jeanette Henderson and Aliya Fredette-Huffman limited their opponents to a combined eight points in the across two sets, holding them to three points in the first and five in the second. In one of the final matches of the day, Clare Flanagan and Brenna Reinhard opened with a 21-4 first set victory.

Saint Leo returns to the sand in 10 days for a tri-meet with State College of Florida and Palm Beach State (Feb. 24). First match of the day is schedule for 10 a.m.
