AUSTIN, Texas – Saint Leo University sophomore goalkeeper Hannah Goetzer was named a College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2024 Academic All-America ® for Women's Soccer. Goetzer's 4.00 GPA highlighted the third team for her first career All-America honors. Last month, she was honored as a member of the CSC All-District Team and was named to the All-SSC Second Team.
 
Goetzer was one of eleven of the 34 members of the Academic All-America® Division II women's soccer teams to sustain an unblemished 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school. The members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.90, with the entire Division II team maintaining a collective average GPA of 3.92.
 
Goetzer made her presence known in goal for the Lions in 2024. The sophomore from Backnag, Germany played 1415 minutes in goal making 83 saves while allowing just 11 goals for a 0.883 save percentage. She started in all 17 games while turning in seven solo clean sheets and a combined shutout to boast a 9-3-4 record and a 4-3-3 record in SSC play. In SSC action, she made all ten starts while making 60 saves for a 0.870 save percentage and picking up a trio of clean sheets. Goetzer led the SSC in saves (83), save percentage (.883), shutouts per game (.412), total shutouts (7), and saves per game (4.88). She was second in goals allowed (11), goals against average (.700), and was fifth in total minutes played (1414:57).
 
Off the pitch, Goetzer is in the honors program and last year was named to the President's Club in both the fall and the spring. This past fall she did a Phage research for her biology major.
 
The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Division II Academic All-America® program.
