MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Saint Leo University women's soccer team has secured its spot in the top half of the 2024 Sunshine State Conference tournament. The Lions earned the number four seed and will host the number five seed Embry-Riddle Eagles in the opening round of the SSC tournament.
The Lions picked up a crucial win in its final conference game at Eckerd to solidify its spot as the fourth seed. Saint Leo finished the regular season with an 8-4-5 record overall and picked up 15 points along the way in conference action to finish with a 4-3-3 SSC record.
Saint Leo will host the Eagles of Embry-Riddle for the second time this season. Thanks to
Ella Owen's sixth goal of the season, Saint Leo claimed a 1-0 victory over the Eagles, which proved to give the Green & Gold the tiebreaker.
Embry-Riddle ended the regular season with an 8-6-3 overall record and sported an identical 4-3-3 record with 15 points as the Lions in SSC action.
The Lions and the Eagles are set for a 7 p.m. kickoff on Monday night at the Saint Leo Soccer Field. The two teams last met in the SSC postseason in 2022 with the Eagles advancing with a 1-0 win over the Lions.

#3 Nova Southeastern vs. #6 Eckerd – Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – 4:30 p.m.
Semifinals– Thursday, November 14
Winner of #1/#8 vs. Winner of #4/#5 – Higher Seed – TBD
Winner of #2/#7 vs. Winner of #3/#6 – Higher Seed – TBD
The finals of the SSC tournament will take place at the highest remaining seed on Sunday, November 17.
