SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo University acrobatics & tumbling head coach
Britteny Johnson has unveiled the 2025 schedule, featuring seven meets. The Lions will open with three home contests before closing the regular season with four road meets, including a marquee match up against powerhouse Baylor in Waco, Texas.
"We have a competitive schedule this season that will allow our athletes to showcase their talent and hard work they put in during the off-season," said Johnson. "We focused a lot on unity and team culture this fall and are very excited for the season! If you do it for me, I'll do it for you—that's the motto for us. The team is eager and excited to hit the mat together. I'm excited to see big crowds at our home meets this season!"
Saint Leo kicks off the season at home, hosting Montevallo (Feb. 22), Presbyterian (March 2), and Quinnipiac (March 9). The Lions then hit the road for meets at Converse (March 19), Presbyterian (March 22), Baylor (March 29), and a tri-meet with Montevallo and Talladega (April 10) at Montevallo.
The schedule includes only two returning opponents from 2024: Presbyterian and Talladega. Saint Leo and Presbyterian will meet for the fifth and sixth times, with the series tied at 2-2. The Lions extended their win streak over Presbyterian to two last season. Against Talladega, Saint Leo earned its first win in 2024, posting a decisive 254.31–165.92 victory.
The Lions will face Montevallo and Quinnipiac for the first time in program history. The home-and-home series with Montevallo will bookend the season.
Saint Leo will also visit nine-time reigning NCATA national champion Baylor for the first time in program history. The Lions are seeking their first win over the Bears, having previously faced them in 2020 and 2022 when Baylor traveled to Saint Leo.
The Lions' matchup with Converse marks their third meeting overall and the first since 2022. Saint Leo is still in search of its first victory over the Valkyries.
