SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo University athletics announces eight-year head men's and women's tennis coach
Chad Berryhill has resigned his position. The three-time SSC Coach of the Year assumed the two programs in October of 2016. Berryhill coached the Saint Leo tennis teams to a 2023 ITA National Indoor championship appearance with the men's team claiming a 4-1 win over the University of Indianapolis for the championship title.
Since taking the helm at Saint Leo, Berryhill has led the Lions to a combined eleven NCAA postseason appearances, five CoSIDA honors, 16 ITA Singles All-Americans, 10 ITA Doubles All-Americans, Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Men's Tennis Regular Season Championship titles (2018, 2023), 60 All-SSC selections, three SSC Freshmen of the Year selections (women), two SSC Freshmen of the Year selections (men), two SSC Athletes of the Year honors (men), and numerous ITA Team Community Service Awards.
Individually, Berryhill has been honored as the ITA South Region Men's Tennis Coach of the Year (2018, 2022, 2023), ITA South Region Women's Tennis Coach of the Year (2022 & 2023), SSC Men's Tennis Coach of the Year (2018 & 2023), SSC Women's Tennis Coach of the Year (2018), ITA National Coach of the Year (2022 & 2023), as well as the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) Coach of the Year for the Florida Division (2019).
During his time in the Green and Gold, he has coached 37 ITA All-Americans and during the 2023 championship season, he surpassed the 400 dual match victory plateau.
