Lake Jovita, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's golf team finished day one of the Sunshine State Conference Championships in second place with a 293 total score as a team.

Elena Verticchio finished at 71 (-1) for the day which landed Saint Leo with a 2nd place standing after day one.

Laurence Lamer finished at 73 (+1) by the end of her day. Her performance landed her with a top ten individual spot after day one.

The Lions will continue their work by competing in the SSC Championship on Monday, April 17 at 7:40 a.m.
