SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo beach volleyball team competed in the first day of the University of Tampa Tournament. The Lions split their first day of the tournament, defeating Florida Southern, 5-0 and falling to Tampa, 2-3.

Saint Leo opened up the morning sweeping Florida Southern College, 5-0 to kick off the University of Tampa Tournament. Aliya Fredette-Huffman and Jeanette Henderson kicked off the match with a win over the pairing of Emma Shaddix and Olivia D'Agostino, 21-14 and 21-19. Niamh Davies and LeeAnn Potter earned the largest win margin defeating Sophia Rakauskas and Madeline Sanders, 21-12 and 21-8.

 The Green & Gold closed out their morning falling short to the University of Tampa, 2-3. The pairings of Jeanette Henderson/ Aliya Fredette-Huffman and Kayla David/Julia Panko won the two matches for the Lions.

Saint Leo will close out the University of Tampa Tournament, April 1^st. The Lions will take the court against Erskine at 8:00 A.M. and Palm Beach Atlantic at 12:00 P.M.
