WINTER PARK, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's soccer team was handed a 0-3 loss on the road at Rollins Tuesday night. Despite the hard fought battle, their Lions close out the season with a loss to their SSC rival.
Saint Leo (4-7-5, 1-5-4 SSC) was paced by
Alex Collighan with four shots on the evening. She was followed up by three other Lions each with a shot on goal.
Despite the efforts, Rollins (9-5-3, 6-3-1 SSC) netted an goal in the 22
nd minute and extended its lead with another one in the 37
th minute to go up 2-0. The Tars netted another one in the 53
rd minute to put this match out of reach.
Lions' goalkeeper,
Hannah Goetzer returned from injury with five saves on the night to closed out her rookie season.
Saint Leo may have not closed out their season with a win, but this squad has a lot to look forward to in the coming years. The team was able to gain confidence as the season went on.
