WINTER PARK, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's soccer traveled to Rollins College and was handed a 1-3 loss Wednesday night. The Lions found themselves in tough weather conditions and couldn't pull out the win after a valiant effort.
The Lions were paced
Carmen Reinerink with a pair of shots including a very impressive goal in the 87
th minute of this hard-fought battle.
Elise McDonald was also able to get off a shot on goal as she was aggressive looking to get on the board early.
Despite the efforts, Rollins netted an early goal in the third minute, followed by another one right before the halftime period in the 45
th minute to take a 2-0 lead.
The Lions stepped up defensively in the second half, but the Tars came out of the halftime period and were able to get another goal in the 47
th minute.
Lions' goalkeeper,
Hannah Goetzer did the best she could with the rainy weather conditions notching four saves on the night.
Saint Leo returns to play on Saturday, October 14. as they travel to Boca Raton, FL to take on the Fighting Knights of Lynn University. Kickoff is slated to start at 7:00 p.m.
