Saint Leo, FLA – Saint Leo Women's Tennis was picked to finish third in the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Coaches Preseason Poll.
The Lions coming in third meant that the Barry Buccaneers and Nova Southeastern Sharks came in first and second respectively. The Buccaneers were picked to win the conference with 81 points and nine first place votes. The Sharks chosen for second place received 72 points and one first place vote. Saint Leo's came in third place with 62 total points.
Head Coach
Chad Berryhill has been coaching the team since 2016 and is looking to progress the squad to even further heights after an amazing 21-4 record last year with a 7-2 conference record.
Rounding out the remaining SSC poll were Lynn in fourth (61 total points), Tampa (47), Embry-Riddle (39), Florida Southern (33), Rollins (29), Palm Beach Atlantic (17), and Eckerd (9).
The Lions open 2023 versus Ave Maria University at 3pm on February 3rd. The Green & Gold will be defending home court at the Saint Leo Tennis Center.
