BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – The Saint Leo University Men's golf team had a good showing in Day Two, tying for fourth with a round score of 290 (+2), but the result was not enough to move up the ranks, as the Lions finished sixth in the Griffin Invitational with an overall score of 880 (+16) Tuesday afternoon at the Southern Hills Plantation Club.
Freshman
Carl Gustin posted the Lions' best individual round score of the day (72, E) en route to a Top 20 finish in the invitational with an overall score of 219, +3 (75/72/72). Freshman
Mathieu Lafontaine battled back on the second day to finish in a three-way tie for the second-best score on the Par 3 courses (-1).
The host Green & Gold finished fifth in the Griffin Invitational in Total Birdies (33).

The Lions will return to the course September 25-27 as the team travels to Columbus, Ga. for the Cougar Invitational, hosted by Columbus State.
