BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – The #18/#23 Saint Leo University Men's golf team began the 2022 season with the annual Griffin Invitational, featuring eight, nationally-ranked squads. After two rounds of play, the Lions found themselves in sixth place with an overall team score of 590 (+14) Monday night at the Southern Hills Plantation Club.
Junior
Francois Cilliers led the Lions, shooting 74/72, +2 as the Green & Gold's fourth golfer. The Cape Cod, South African native's score was tied for 20th overall. Cilliers leads all golfers with the best score on Par 4s (-2).
Freshman
Brett White (77/79, +12) began his collegiate career with a strong start, including one of four golfers to record an Eagle on the day.
