BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Saint Leo beach volleyball team dropped a pair on the opening day of the Paradise Classic hosted by Florida Atlantic University at the FAU Beach Burrow. Florida Gulf Coast University snapped the Lions' 13-game win streak with a 4-1 decision followed by a 5-0 loss to Palm Beach Atlantic. The Lions will regroup and head into the final day against the hosts with a 19-9 season record.

Aliya Fredette-Huffman and
LeeAnn Potter snagged the Green and Gold's lone win in the second pairing against the FGCU Eagles.

In match two of the day, the first pair,
Nina Vattovaz and
Jeanette Henderson, had the PBA Sailfish on the line, but the 'Fish escaped after a long three-set battle.

Ally-Reese Williams and
Emma Miller along put up a good fight in the third pairings against PBA. The duo went into extra points in the first set and came up just short in the second.
