TAVARES, Fla. – In her first season at the helm of the Saint Leo beach volleyball team, head coach Natalia Koryzna led the Lions in the program's most wins season with a 22-13 overall record. The 2022 season came to a close at the AVCA Small College Championships on Saturday. Saint Leo wrapped up the season as the Silver Bracket Third place finishers.
 
Saint Leo fell to Texas A&M Kingsville, 3-2. The Green and Gold responded defeating Carson-Newman 4-1 for the podium finish in the silver bracket, seventh overall.
 
Graduate Student, Nina Vattovaz finished her last season with a 21-14 record (.600) with first pairings partner Jeanette Henderson. Vattovaz will go down in school history as the winningest beach volleyball Lion and trailblazer for the sport at Saint Leo. Vattovaz compiled a career 56-49 (.533).
 
Morgan Maddox also finished her career in the Green and Gold. Maddox first put on the Green and Gold in 2020 after transferring to Saint Leo from Hillsborough Community College. The Valrico, Fla. native competed in two matches in the fifth pairings going 1-1. This season, she and Angela Goggin defeated Truett McConnell's Alana Davis and Kaleigh McFarland, 21-18, 21-13, on March 17.
