Saint Leo Brings Home Hardware from NCAA DII Swimming Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Saint Leo men and women's swimming programs had stellar performances at the 2022 NCAA Division II Swimming Championships inside the Greensboro Aquatic Center. The Saint Leo women finished 20th overall with 46 points while the men's program earned a 25th place finish with eight points under the director of first-year interim head coach Michael Southward.

Isabelle Sering will bring home some hardware after earning an eighth place finish in the women's 100-Yard Butterfly with a final time of 54.60. The top finish pulled in 11 points for the Green and Gold. In addition, Sering recorded a program-record during the 50-Yard Freestyle Swim-Off with a time of 23.05.
 
Sering continued to dominate in the pool, this time with teammates Anett Daka, Emma Bjoernholdt, and Elze Bielskute. The 400-yard Medley Relay team placed 13th with a time of 3:45.27.
 
Anett Daka joins Sering in earning hardware from the national championship. Daka placed eighth in the 100-Yard Backstroke with a time of 55.67 following her preliminary time of 55.16. The big-time finish added another 11 points to the team's count.
 
In the women's 400-Yard Freestyle Relay, Elze Bielskute, Anett Daka, Emma Bjoernholdt, and Isabelle Sering earned a 13th place finish with a time of 3:25.25 for eight team points.
 
The Lions' 800-Yard Freestyle Relay team comprised of Vittoria Feniello Bonsanti, Isabelle Sering, Anett Daka, and Emma Bjoernholdt registered a 14th place finish with a time of 7:31.75 for six team points.
 
In men's action, Jakub Kwasny finished 13th in the 200-Yard Butterfly with a final time of 1:47.35 earning four points for the Lions' team tally.
 
Devin Green, Carlos Nava, Szymon Leszega, and Jakub Kwasny put together a 6:37.22 time earning four points from a 15th place finish in the 800-Yard Freestyle relay.
