SAINT LEO, Fla. – First year Director of Volleyball,
Natalia Koryzna, is set to open her first season on the beach volleyball courts directing 12 Saint Leo beach volleyball Lions in 2022. The Lions are set to open the 2022 season on Saturday, Feb 12 at Lake Sumter in a tri-meet with Webber International. The weekend start marks the program's fifth season since its' inaugural season in 2018 as the University's 20
th intercollegiate sport.
The Lions and Warriors will crack open the season at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday in Leesburg, Fla. followed by a 3:00 p.m. match against the hosts, Lake Sumter. Saint Leo and Webber will turn around quickly to face each again on Wednesday, Feb 16.
After a series of road trips in February, the Green and Gold's home opener is set for Tuesday, March 8 at noon hosting Florida Southern and then the College of Charleston at 4:00 p.m.
Nina Vattovaz returns for her final season on the sand. The 6'0 Italian split time between the first and second flights last season. She compiled a record of 11-5 and enters the season with 40 career victories. Vattovaz is one of the only veterans among the young squad.
