SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's basketball team hits the road for a conference showdown against #9/#17 Eckerd College on Saturday, December 10. The Lions will face their third nationally ranked team this season, earlier this season the Lions took down #9 Bentley and #20 Lee University. Tipoff is set for 2:00 PM.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Amanda Ulrich enters Saturday's conference showdown currently ranked second in the Sunshine State Conference in scoring. During her first eight games of the season, the senior has recorded 150 points. From the field Ulrich has been shooting .535 (54-of-101) and .360 from three-point range (18-of-50). She will look to drive the Saint Leo offense past the challenging Eckerd College defense. Ulrich led the Lions in scoring Tuesday evening with a team-high 23 points. The senior from Secaucus, New Jersey finished the evening shooting 8-of-12 from the floor and 2-for-6 from three-point range.
Kiki McIntyre currently ranks second in the conference in steals with 25 through her first eight games. She is currently averaging 3.1 steals-per-game and looks to pace the Lions defense.
LIONS LEADING CONFERENCE
Saint Leo continues to be one of the top teams in the Sunshine State Conference in offensive and defensive categories. The Lions currently lead the conference in total offense with a conference leading 656 points and are averaging 82 points-per-game. Collectively the Lions are at the top of the conference in total margin for both total offense and defense with a conference leading 24.5 margin. Saint Leo currently ranks first in the SSC in steals with 115 and second for offensive boards at 98.
SCOUTING #9/#17 ECKERD COLLEGE
Earlier this week the Eckerd women's basketball team was selected as #9 in the WBCA Coaches Poll. They also currently stand at #17 in the nation. Eckerd College is led by 17th year head coach Paul Honsinger. The Tritons are 7-1 through their first eight games. The Tritons come into the game ranking first in assists (157), first in opponent field goal percentage (0.337), second in blocked shots (28), and second in team rebounds (314). Senior Center, Maya Price leads the Tritons on both sides of the court with a team-high 130 points (16.3 points-per-game), and 18 blocks.

The Lions will head to Daytona Beach for the Holiday Classic Tournament where they will play Young Harris College on Friday, December 16
th and close the tournament on Saturday, December 17
th when they play Davenport University.
