DALLAS, Texas - Saint Leo women's golf finished out the first 36-holes of the DBU Classic in sixth at the Wildhorse Golf Club. The Lions as a team shot a 593 (+17) over the two rounds led by
Cajsa Strandberg's 145 (+1), good enough for 10th place heading into the final round.
Strandberg opened up the day with a one-under 71 on the par-72 6,182-yard course where she followed it up with a two over 74 for her opening tournament in the Green and Gold.
Francesca Santoni carded a 75 (+3) to open the day before going under-par with a 71 (-1) to close Monday's golf with a 146 (+2) in 18th place. Two other golfers joined Strandberg in their first tournament for the Lions in
Pia Perthen and
Laurence Lamer who finished Monday tied for 28th and 58th, respectively.
No. 7 St. Mary's (Texas) is leading the team race by six-strokes over host and the number-1 ranked program in the country, Dallas Baptist University. North Georiga's Madeline Ananthasane is the clubhouse leader heading into tomorrow's final roudn at 136 (-8), three strokes up on second place.
