Box Score LAKELAND, Fla. – The eighth-ranked Saint Leo women's tennis team opened their first road match of a five-straight away contests bringing back a 6-1 win from 20th-ranked Florida Southern. The Lions' victory improved their record to 2-1, 2-1 in the Sunshine State Conference (SSC).
The Green and Gold opened the SSC matchup taking the doubles point from victories at the first and third flights. First doubles team,
Molly Helgesson and
Lavinia Lancellotti, clinched the team match point with a 6-4 decision followed by third doubles team,
Marta Vicens Miquel and
Celina Ermann's 6-2 final.
In first singles action, Helgesson cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 win. Vicens Miquel and
Nina Furmaniak each won three-set battles in second and third singles, respectively.

Keeping Our Lions Healthy & Safe
Saint Leo University Athletics is keeping our student-athletes healthy and safe by following a number of measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This includes having student-athletes tested or screened on a regular basis, traveling in smaller groups, holding competitions without fans in attendance, avoiding overnight trips, and wearing masks when not competing. These safety standards meet those set by the NCAA Division II and the Sunshine State Conference President's Council. At Saint Leo University, the COVID-19 Incident Command Team also reviews the teams' safety protocol and monitors adherence on a regular basis.
