MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's and women's swimming teams concluded a three-day stretch in which they competed in six meets with the goal of qualifying as many swimmers as possible for the 2021 NCAA Swimming and Diving National Championships which will be held next month. The Lions continued their string of NCAA "B" standards with three more on Sunday as the Lions dropped a pair of meets to host Florida Tech.  Â

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The meets consisted of 26 total events including 14 in the opening meet and 12 in the second meet.
- The Saint Leo men won four of the 13 male events while the Saint Leo women took seven of the 13 female events.
- The Lion men had two NCAA "B" qualifying standard times while the women picked up one.
- The Lions posted five one-two finishes including three on the women's side and two on the men's.

MEN'S TOP PERFORMERS:
- Freshman Spencer Jyawook led the Lions to a one-two finish in the 100 fly as he posted an NCAA "B" standard time of 47.86 in the victory. Fellow freshman Jakub Kwasny came in just behind at 49.89. Jyawook went on two swim a non-scorning 100 fly at the end of the meet and lowered his time to 47.71 putting him in the mix for an invite to the NCAA Championships.
- Kwasny posted another "B" standard in the 200 fly as he won the event in 1:48.64 but it was not enough to lower his best time in the event from this weekend.
- Freshmen Carlos Nava and Szymon Leszega went one-two in the 200 free. Nava took the top spot in 1:41.01 while Leszega stopped the clock at 1:41.67.
- Jyawook, Leszega, Nava and senior Fridtjov Mork combined to win the 200 free relay with a time of 1:24.36.

WOMEN'S TOP PERFORMERS:
- Freshman Isabelle Sering took nearly a second off her 100 fly time from a day ago to nearly solidify her invitation to the NCAA Championships. She led the Lions to a one-two finish in the event as she posted a "B" standard of 54.81. Freshman Jayana Pasteur came in second after touching the wall at 59.16.
- Pasteur and senior Paulina Majszutowicz went one-two in the 100 breast. Pasteur topped the field at 1:05.93 while Majszutowicz clocked in at 1:06.80.
- Freshman Anett Daka posted a pair of individual victories. She led a one-two finish in the 100 back as she won the event in 57.08 and was followed by sophomore Andrea Toledano who touched in 1:01.29. Daka then went on to win the 200 back with a time of 2:06.86.
- The final individual victory came from freshman Emma Bjoernholdt in the 200 breast as she completed the distance in 2:23.45.
- Daka, Sering, Bjoernholdt and Pasteur combined to win the 200 free relay twice. In the first meet the topped the field in 1:37.03 before winning the event in the second meet with a time of 1:36.98.

Saint Leo will await the announcement of the invitees to the 2021 NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships which will take place March 17-20 in Birmingham, Ala. Â
