Lions Finish 4th at Spartan Invite

CLEARWATER, Fla. - The Saint Leo men's swimming team competed in the four day Spartan Invite, hosted by the University of Tampa, at The Long Center in Clearwater, Florida from Friday to Monday. 

INSIDE THE INVITE:
Final Team Scores: Indian River 1143.5, #20 Tampa 1086, #16 Nova Southeastern 794, Saint Leo 352.5, Lenoir-Rhyne 317
Location: The Long Center | Clearwater, Fla.

TOP PERFORMERS:
  • In the A-Final of the 100 freestyle, Simon Leszega came in sixth place with a time of 45.18.
  • Devin Greene finished in second place in the B-Final of the 100 freestyle with a time of 45.60.
  • Carlos Nava came in first place in the B-Final of the 200 breaststroke, outlasting Indian River's Russell Burton with a time of 2:02.52.
  • The 400 freestyle relay team of Jakub Kwasny, Simon Leszega, Carlos Nava, and Devin Greene came in third in the main final with a time of 3:00.52. 

UP NEXT:
Saint Leo now prepares for conference competition at home hosting Florida Tech on Saturday, January 15 at the Marion Bowman Aquatics Center.
