LAKELAND, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's soccer team fell 2-1 in a hard-fought overtime decision at Florida Southern Tuesday night.
Bella Arato converted a free kick to match the Moccasin's first strike. Despite the comeback efforts, an own goal with seven seconds remaining in the second overtime period lifted the hosts over the Green and Gold.
Saint Leo (2-12-2, 1-8-1 SSC) tallied 15 shots led by Arato and
Caitlin Strong with four shots apiece followed by
Becca Regensburger with three.
Gabi Moore also added two dangerous shots into the mix.
Meanwhile, Florida Southern (5-8-2, 2-5-2 SSC) recorded 19 shots forcing seven saves by
Maitane Bravo. The goalkeeper from Spain wrapped up her first year in the Green and Gold with 88 saves.
