  • RECORDS: Saint Leo 6-11, 2-7 SSC | Palm Beach Atlantic 8-9, 4-5 SSC | Lynn 9-7, 6-3 SSC
  • Saint Leo fell on the road at No. 12 Tampa Tuesday night 3-0 but look to bounce back with a pair of home matches this weekend. The Lions will play at home for the first time since Sept. 25 as they welcome in Palm Beach Atlantic Friday and Lynn Saturday.
  • Senior Brooke Turner has moved into the team lead in kills with 126 while averaging 2.57 per set. Senior Ashley Quero, who has missed the last three matches, still sits second in total kills, 125, and leads the team in kills per set at 2.60. Senior Payton Bellano continues to lead the squad in digs with 216 including 3.79 per set while sophomore Margaret Schirm has a team-best 40 blocks, double her next closest teammate.
  • Quero, Bellano and redshirt senior Anna Garrett are inching up the career charts at Saint Leo. Quero currently ranks fourth in the career record book at Saint Leo in kills with 1,146. Quero needs just 53 more kills to tie for third all-time with Kristy Johnson (1996-99). Bellano currently sits just outside the top-six in career digs at Saint Leo with 1,152, She needs 86 more digs to move into sixth all-time and tie Yaidimar Santiago (2013-14). Garrett has moved into second all-time in assists with 3,532. She still sits 1,841 behind record holder Michelle Nogueras' (2006-09) 5,373 career assists.
  • Palm Beach Atlantic has had an up and down season but have won three of the last four matches. The Sailfish went on a three-match win streak over Florida Southern, Barry and Florida Tech before falling on the road at Lynn on Tuesday. The Sailfish have won just one true road match this season, a 3-0 sweep at Rollins, while falling in four others.
  • Sophomore Alyse Cundiff leads the offense for the Sailfish averaging 3.08 kills per set. Senior Amber Rowoldt is not far behind at 2.90 per set. Junior Anna Gregerson and freshman Maddy Hooper patrol the net averaging 1.10 and 0.93 blocks per set, respectively. Senior Ally Smith leads the backrow with 4.03 digs per set.
  • HISTORY: The Lions have won four of the last five against the Sailfish including splitting the most recent series winning at PBA 3-1 before falling at home 3-2 in 2019. The Lions' 3-2 victory in West Palm Beach in 2017 over the then-No. 3 ranked Sailfish snapped an eight-match losing streak for the Lions in the series.
  • Lynn has also had an up and down season but are winners of five of the last six matches. The Fighting Knights are currently riding a three-match win streak with decisions over Florida Tech, Barry and Palm Beach Atlantic. The lone loss in the last six matches was a 3-1 setback against nationally-ranked Tampa back on Oct. 2.
  • Junior Nadia Lindner leads the team in kills with 166 while averaging 2.86 per set. Senior Sonja Udovcic is not far behind at 2.46 kills per set. Senior Ruth Zijlstra leads the backrow with 4.32 digs per set while senior Lauren Odom is patrolling the net to the tune of 1.32 blocks per set.
  • HISTORY: Saint Leo leads the all-time series with Lynn, 31-15, and the Lions have won eight of the last 10 meetings between the two programs. The last win by the Fighting Knights in the series came Nov. 9, 2019 in Boca Raton, 3-0. Saint Leo went on to defeat Lynn in the NCAA South Region Semifinals in Boca Raton later that season.

  • Saint Leo looks to break a two-game losing skid after suffering a double overtime loss at Barry on Saturday. Miguel Fernandez netted the Lions' goal in the 17th minute. Since the heartbreaker, Saint Leo has enjoyed a midweek bye.
  • Fernandez paces the offense with three goals helped by Dylan Smith with a pair of goals and two assists. Meanwhile Arthur Bergami and Mauro Diaz have each netted two while assisting in one.
  • Riccardo Zarri has started in eight games. The Italian goalkeeper has faced 116 shots in which he has tallied 26 saves.
  • Before kickoff, the Lions will honor four graduating Lions, Riccardo Zarri, Noah Nixon, Endy Butigian, and Karl Nyman.
  • Florida Tech is entering the game coming off a double overtime win against Eckerd on Wednesday. Guillermo Segovia scored his eighth goal of the season to propel the Panthers over the Tritons. Fabio Amaral tallied the first goal of the night, assisted by Stian Olsen, who also assisted the game-winner.
  • Segovia leads the Panther's offensive efforts with eight goals followed by Amaral with a pair of goals and an assist. In the net, Nick Brady has earned five starts while Luis Tovar Romera, Sr. has earned four. The keepers have earned a combined 0.696 save percentage after facing 96 shots.
  • HISTORY: the teams last faced each other on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019 in Melbourne, Florida. The No. 7 Panthers handed the Lions a 3-0 loss at Rick Stottler Field.

  • Saint Leo snapped a six-game losing skid in a 2-1 overtime thriller against Barry on Saturday. The extra time victory celebrated Paula Martinez Miranda's second game-winner of the season followed by Nina Mueller's equalizer in the 74th minute, assisted by Martinez Miranda.
  • Mueller paces the Green and Gold's offense with a pair of goals and two assists. Starting goalkeeper, Maitane Bravo has faced 132 shots to put up 54 saves and a 0.761 save percentage so far this season.
  • Florida Tech hasn't lost a game since facing Nova Southeastern, 1-0 on Saturday, Oct. 2. Since then, the Buccaneers topped Eckerd 1-0 in overtime, drew a 0-0 decision against Florida Southern, and took down No. 2 Columbus State, 2-1. The Panthers early pair of goals were enough to last against the nationally ranked Cougars.
  • Marem Ndlongue with a goal and four assists alongside Mayara Queiroz Reis with three goals lead the Florida Tech offense. In the net, Maria Sanchez Recuero has started in all ten games seeing 93 shots. She has earned 36 saves paired with a 0.857 save percentage on the season.
  • HISTORY: The SSC teams last met on Saturday, Oct. 19 at the Saint Leo Soccer Field. Florida Tech squeezed past the Lions in a tight 1-0 decision.
  • Saint Leo hosts the Saint Leo Invitational after placing fifth at the LeeAnn Noble Memorial Oct. 11-12 in Dahlonega, Ga. The Lions finished with a team score of 879 (+15) while Cajsa Strandberg led the way with a 12th place finish at even-par 216.
  • Strandberg, who finished as the top individual for the Green and Gold at the past two tournaments, was joined by Francesca Santoni in the top-20 with a two-over 218 for 18th place.

  • Saint Leo travels to Palm Harbor to play at the Copperhead Championship hosted by West Florida at Innisbrook Resort where the Lions are coming off a seventh place finish at the Cougar Invitational Sept. 27-28 with a 872 (+32) team total.
  • Colin Kresl paced the Lions at the Cougar Invitational with a 12th place finish at six-over 216, just ahead of Alex Heck who finished in 20th place with an eight-over 218.
  • The Lions look to improve on their placement from two years ago (2019) at the Copperhead where the Green and Gold took ninth out of the 17 team field at 878 (+26).
