Three Lions Land on NCATA Academic Honor Roll

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Three Saint Leo Acrobatics & Tumbling student-athletes were named to the 2020 National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) Academic Honor Roll after the first season of competition. Despite only have competed in four meets due to the global pandemic, Spencer Bronner, Kaleigh Pensavalle, and Glory Seay become the first three members in program history to earn NCATA Academic Honor Roll nods when the NCATA announced both the All-Academic Team and the Academic Honor Rolls on April 13.

In total, Bronner, Pensavalle and Seay were three of 286 student-athletes honored on the 2020 NCATA Academic Honor Roll. To be considered for the honor roll, A&T student-athletes must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or higher.

Bronner, a St. Augustine, Fla. native, is a criminal justice major in the classroom and a base no the mat. She competed in all three events on the season. Pensavalle, a top/tumbler from Lindenhurst, N.Y., is a biomedical and health science major and competed in all three matches on the season. After the first meet of the season, she earned NCATA Freshman of the week honor (Feb. 13) after competing in 13 of 20 heats against Limestone. Seay, a Waco, Texas native, is a biology major and competed in all three matches on the shortened season as a base and tumbler.

Despite the Green and Gold finishing 2020 with an 0-4 record, the Lions had no easy schedule as they competed against three nationally ranked programs in no. 10 Limestone, No. 1 Baylor and No. 8 Converse.
