SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo sophomore
Dave Longhini was named the Sunshine State Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, presented by Jimmy John's, announced Monday, March 16 by the league's office.

Longhini paced the 16
th-ranked Saint Leo Lions at the Southeastern Intercollegiate where he took second out of the 93-player field. Longhini finished second at three-under par 213 for the 54-hole tournament.

The Asiago, Italy native opened up play Sunday with a one-under 71 before dropping that stroke Monday with a one-over 73 to sit at even-par 144 heading to the final 18-holes on Tuesday. Longhini made the most of his final 18 holes with a three-under 69 to solidify himself in the top-5 and finished in second when final scores posted on the individual leaderboard.

Over the 54-holes, Longhini sank 11 birdies and made 36 pars where he was third in the field on par-4's, averaging a 3.90 (-3), and was tied for fifth on par-5's at 4.67 (-4).

On the 2019-2020 season, Longhini and the Lions placed in the top-5 at four of the seven events with one tournament win, the Saint Leo Invitational in February, and one third place finish at the Griffin Invitational back in October.
