DELAND, Fla. – The Saint Leo beach volleyball team faced two of the top teams in the country as they took on 16
th-ranked Georgia State and seventh-ranked Stetson at the Stetson Spring Fling Saturday. The Lions fell 5-0 in both matches but battled with both programs.

Versus the Panthers of Georgia State freshman
Megan Keating and sophomore
Kirsten Kaiser went three games at No. 4. The pair fell 21-9, 18-21, 18-16 in a back-and-forth battle with the top-25 Panthers. Sophomore
Payton Bellano and freshman
Madi Certain teamed up at No. 4 and earned 17 points in the first game and 15 in the second.

Versus the top-10 ranked Hatters Kaiser teamed up with freshman
Phoebe Hammond at No. 5 and nearly toppled their opponents. They fell 21-11, 20-22, 15-12. Redshirt sophomore
Anna Garrett and Bellano earned the second most points for the Lions at No. 3 as they fell 21-16, 21-15. Â

The Lions will return to action Monday, March 2 as they host Erskine and UT Martin in their home opener. The tri-match is set to begin at noon at the Saint Leo Beach Volleyball Courts. Â Â
