SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's and women's swimming teams closed out the 2019-2020 regular season Friday afternoon at the Marion Bowman Aquatics Center as they downed the visiting Tars of Rollins College. The 23
rd-ranked Lion men won all but three events while the women earned the top spot in nine of the 14 events. Saint Leo honored 18 seniors prior to the meet including seven women and 11 men.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The meet consisted of 28 events including 14 for the men and 14 for the women
- The Saint Leo men won 11 of the 14 events while the Saint Leo women took nine of the 14.
- The Lion men posted six one-two finishes including a podium sweep in the 100 freestyle.
- The Saint Leo women had a pair of one-two finishes.
MEN'S TOP PERFORMERS:
- Sophomore Hampus Lovinge continued to be a one-man wrecking crew as he picked up three individual first place finishes and helped the Lions win the 200 medley relay. Lovinge led the way in the 100 backstroke as he and junior Fridtjov Mork posted a one-two finish. Lovinge completed the distance in 50.86 while Mork touched second at 53.33. Lovinge also took the 200 back title with a time of 1:51.92. His third individual win came in the 200 individual medley as he posted a time of 1:55.43. Lovinge joined junior Kosta Mitrovic, senior Christian Cioffi and freshman Devin Green in the 200 medley relay to open the meet. The quartet topped the field with a time of 1:34.63.
- Cioffi picked up an individual win and was part of both the winning relays. He opened his day in the 200 medley relay before winning the 50 freestyle in a one-two finish with fellow senior Juan Patino. Cioffi sprinted to a 21.32 finish while Patino touched just three one-hundredths of a second later at 21.35. The pair along with senior Michael Southward and Mork teamed up in the 200 freestyle relay to close out the meet as they took first in 1:24.15.
- Mork also led the Lions in a podium sweep in the 100 freestyle. Mork, Southward and Cioffi finished one through three to earn valuable points for the Lions. Mork touched first at 46.89 followed by Southward in 47.01 and Cioffi at 47.03.
- Green, who helped win the 200 medley relay, also brought home the top spot in the 200 freestyle. Green and Southward posted a one-two finish in the event. Green touched the wall in 1:43.18 while Southward came in just behind at 1:43.52.
- Sophomore Matthew Daniel posted the lone NCAA "B" standard of the day as he finished first in the 500 free with a qualifying time of 4:33.27. Senior Matija Rafaj took second to complete the one-two finish. Rafaj stopped the clock at 4:39.38.
- Rafaj and graduate student Yann Corbel picked up a one-two finish in the 1,000 freestyle. Rafaj earned the victory in 9:32.91 while Corbel stopped the clock at 9:35.98.
- Mitrovic, who helped win the 200 medley relay, took the top spot in the 100 breaststroke. He topped the field with a time of 59.12. Â

WOMEN'S TOP PERFORMERS:
- Senior Annie Lindstrom led the way for the Lions as she won two individual races and was part of both winning relays. Lindstrom opened the day by teaming up with freshman Andrea Toledano, junior Paulina Majszutowicz and senior Zofia Pilarska in the 200 medley relay as the quartet won in 1:50.53. Lindstrom then won the 50 free in a one-two finish with senior Lauren Boos. Lindstrom touched in 24.65 while Boos came in at 24.45. The final individual finish came in another one-two finish in the 100 free. Lindstrom stopped the clock at 53.76 followed by senior Matalin Shaver at 54.61 She closed the day by teaming up with Shaver, Pilarska and Boos in the 200 free relay with a winning time of 1:38.39.
- Majszutowicz was also a multi-winner as she took home the 100 and 200 breaststroke titles. She took the 100 in 1:08.09 before topping the field in the 200 at 2:26.42.
- Sophomore Vittoria Bonsanti Feniello was also a two-time winner as she took first in both the 200 and 500 freestyle. She closed out the 200 with a time of 1:55.19 while winning the 500 in 5:07.16.
- The final individual winner was freshman Mariana Navarrete who won the 100 backstroke with a winning time of 1:00.06.

Saint Leo will begin final preparations for the 2020 Sunshine State Conference Championships which will take place Feb. 13-16 in Clearwater, Fla.
