MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's and women's swimming teams picked up a pair of victories on the road Friday afternoon as the Lions defeated the Panthers of Florida Tech for the second time this season. The 23
rd-ranked men's team had a back-and-forth meet with the Panthers winning six of the 11 events. The Saint Leo women took home seven of the 11 events while taking down the Panthers.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The meet consisted of 22 events including 11 for the men and 11 for the women
- The Saint Leo men won six of the 11 events while the Saint Leo women took seven of the 11.
- The Lion men posted four podium sweeps including a pair of first through fourth sweeps. The top-four sweeps came in the 200 and 500 freestyle events while the podium sweeps occurred in the 50 and 100 freestyle races.
- The Saint Leo women had a podium sweep in the 100 freestyle and took first through fourth in the 400 individual medley.
- The Saint Leo men posted all six of their victories in freestyle events.

MEN'S TOP PERFORMERS:
- Graduate student Yann Corbel led the way Friday as he picked up two individual victories including an NCAA "B" standard performance in the 1650 freestyle. Corbel and sophomore Matthew Daniel finished one-two in the mile. Corbel touched the wall in 16:01.08, just under the "B standard mark, while Daniel came in at 16:04.45. Corbel also led a one through four finish in the 500 free. Corbel stopped the clock at 4:41.74 to win the event and was followed by Devin Green (4:45.30), Matija Rafaj (4:47.19) and Nic Petruska (4:54.43).
- Green, who finished second in the 500 free, brought home the title in the 200 free as part of a one through four finish. Rafaj (1:45.09), Corbel (1:46.11) and Petruska (1:48.94) touch second through fourth.
- Senior Christian Cioffi posted a win in the 50 free as he led a sweep in 21.26. Michael Southward (21.65) and Fridtjov Mork (21.70) finished out the sweep.
- Mork took the top spot in the 100 free at 46.65 while Southward (47.93) and Daniel (48.14) took second and third.
- Southward, Mork, senior Juan Patino and Cioffi teamed up to win the 200 freestyle relay. Â

WOMEN'S TOP PERFORMERS:
- Senior Annie Lindstrom led the way for the Lions as she won two individual races and was part of both winning relays. Lindstrom opened the day by teaming up with freshman Andrea Toledano, junior Paulina Majszutowicz and senior Zofia Pilarska in the 200 medley relay as the quartet won in 1:50.06. Lindstrom then won the 50 free in a one-two finish with sophomore Lauren Boos. Lindstrom touched in 24.70 while Boos came in at 25.53. The final individual finish came in a podium sweep in the 100 free. Lindstrom stopped the clock at 54.21 followed by Matalin Shaver (55.15) and Boos (56.55). She closed the day by teaming up with Shaver, Pilarska and Toledano in the 200 free relay with a winning time of 1:40.13.
- Majszutowicz was also a multi-winner as she took home the 100 breaststroke title. She won the event in 1:08.48.
- Sophomore Carolina Walch led a one through four finish for the Lions in the 400 individual medley. She took the top spot in 4:35.03 followed by Mariana Navarrete (4:39.47), Charlie Langner (4:44.97) and Siobhan Murphy (4:51.05).
- The only other victor for the Lions was sophomore Vittoria Bonsanti Feniello who took the top spot in the 200 free with a time of 1:57.53.

UP NEXT:
Saint Leo will return to action Friday, January 24 in the Lions' final home meet of the season. The Lions will honor 18 seniors prior to the meet which is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. The Lions will face the Rollins Tars.
