SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo University and the athletics department mourns the loss of freshman men's lacrosse student-athlete
Blake Crownover, who passed away tragically Wednesday morning.

"Our university and athletic community are distraught by the news we received earlier today of Blake's passing," University Vice President and Director of Athletics
Francis X. Reidy stated. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the Crownover family, his teammates, coaches, and  many friends at this challenging time. We will rely on our faith, close-knit community and prayer to comfort and guide us in the coming days as we reflect on this outstanding young man and his time with us."
Crownover, a freshman biology major from Windsor, Colo., joined the Green and Gold in the fall of 2019 and was one of three goalkeepers on the men's lacrosse team while also a member of the U.S. Air Force ROTC.
"Our players and staff are devastated to have lost our friend, brother, and teammate," Head Coach
Brad Jorgensen commented. "Blake joyfully excelled at everything he did and made all of us better for having known him. Our thoughts are with the Crownover family and everyone touched by Blake's passing."
