SAINT LEO, Fla. – Five Saint Leo University Athletics and Recreation Department staff members received promotions starting in 2020. Three Lions earned Assistant Athletic Director titles while two others moved into Director roles in their respective areas.

Conner Kilpatrick was elevated to Director of Recreation while former Assistant Director of Compliance
Brent Graves was moved to Director of Compliance.

Marcal Lazenby joined the Lions in 2017 after nine years at Glenville State College concluding with two years at the helm of the department as the Director of Athletics. For past two years, he has transformed policies and created workflows to better suit the needs of the Saint Leo Athletics Department. He has established the NCAA Compliance committee and implemented the NCAA rules education "Compliance Matter's" Newsletter. Lazenby was named the 2018-19 Saint Leo Athletics Employee of the Year. In August of 2019 Lazenby was presented with the core value award for "Community" at Community Day. Lazenby is a 2008 graduate of Glenville State College.

Brad Bee has nearly 10 years of experience in collegiate athletics including three-plus years at Saint Leo. He joined the Lions in 2016 as the Director of Athletics Communication after two years as an assistant director at Kent State University. He is a 2012 graduate of Thiel College where he earned a degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing.

Joe Nudo is in the midst of his fifth year at Saint Leo where he has served as the Director of Strength and Conditioning since arriving on campus. He is a 12-year veteran of the strength and conditioning profession and has served on the staffs of several institutions including NCAA Division I members Northwestern, Eastern Washington, Arkansas and North Carolina State. Nudo graduated from Western Illinois in 2008 with a degree in kinesiology. He then earned his Master of Science in kinesiology from Arkansas in 2010. He holds several certifications including being a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Conner Kilpatrick joined the Lions in 2013 as a graduate assistant for recreation. He was promoted to Assistant Director in 2015 before earning his most recent promotion to Director in 2020. During his time at Saint Leo, he earned his MBA in sport business in 2015. He is a 2012 graduate of Marietta College where he earned a degree in sport management.

Brent Graves has been at Saint Leo since walking on campus as a freshman in 2010. After four years as an undergraduate, Graves took a position as Graduate Assistant for internal operations for the Lions. He eventually worked his way into the role of Assistant Director of Compliance where he has served for over three years. During his nearly 10 years on campus, Graves has earned three degrees including a pair of Master's. He started with an undergraduate degree in sport business in 2014 before earning his MBA in 2016. He then completed the coursework to earn a master's degree in criminal justice with a specialization of behavior studies.Â
