NEW ORLEANS – The Saint Leo men's and women's track teams were both recognized for their success in the classroom as the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) selected 209 NCAA Division II teams for their 2019 All-Academic Team honors.

In order to be considered for All-Academic Team honors the program must have at least a 3.00 cumulative GPA as a team.

The men were among just 79 programs nationwide to earn this distinction. The Lions were joined on the list by both Florida Southern and Tampa. The women's list had 130 teams honored including six from the Sunshine State Conference. Embry-Riddle, Florida Southern, Lynn, Nova Southeastern and Tampa joined the Lions on the list.

The Saint Leo women posted a 3.21 GPA while the men came in at 3.05.

The women's program from Truman State had the highest cumulative GPA out of any NCAA DII institution at 3.63. The men's team with the highest cumulative GPA was Point Loma Nazarene University with a 3.53.
