SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's soccer program announced its 2019 schedule on Wednesday under the direction of first-year head coach
Peter McGahey. The 2019 slate includes nine home events including an exhibition contest and three non-conference games before hosting five Sunshine State Conference opponents among a 17 game season schedule.
The Lions will open the season at home on Friday, September 6 at 7 p.m. hosting the Mississippi College Choctaws. The season home opener will be followed by a Sunday match welcoming the West Alabama Tigers to the Saint Leo Soccer Field for a noon kickoff.
Saint Leo will be tested four times among three road trips before facing Flagler at home in the non-conference finale on Wednesday, September 25 at 7 p.m. The Lions jump into conference play on the road at Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday, September 28 at 7 p.m.
In 2018, the Green and Gold compiled a 3-10-2 overall record, going 1-7-2 in the SSC. The Lions defeated West Alabama 2-1 and Webber International 6-1 in non-conference competition. The lone SSC victory was notched at home against Palm Beach Atlantic (2-1) while the Lynn Fighting Knights (2-2) and Rollins Tars (1-1) settled with a draw.
