NORMAN, Okla. - Saint Leo sophomore, Alberto Castagnara was named a semifinalist for the Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year presented by Barbasol, announced Thursday by Collegiate Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). 

Castagnara, who is a two-time semifinalist for the National Player of the Year award, has paced the Green and Gold all year on the course with a 72.16 scoring average and ranks 29th in all of NCAA Division II men's golfers. The sophomore from Pordenone, Italy was one of nine Sunshine State Conference golfers on the list of 30 Division II golfers. 

Saint Leo and Castagnara will look to the second round of the NCAA South/Southeast Regional on Friday, May 10 when the Lions tee off at 12:00 pm.
