SAINT LEO, Fla. – The No. 3 Saint Leo women's tennis team returned to the win column in the form of a Sunshine State Conference sweep over the Eckerd Tritons. The mid-week victory raised the Lions record to 14-3, 4-2 SSC.
The Lions quickly snatched the doubles point with all three double pairing handing in a 6-1 decisions.
In singles action, #52
Kristyna Jurkova at flight no. 2, Nastasia Jedrychowsk at flight no. 5 and
Anna Marija Bukina at flight no. 6 each earned a perfect 6-0, 6-0 slate again their Triton opponent.
At flight no.1, #61
Marta Vicens Miquel turned in a 6-0, 6-1 win. Meanwhile,
Madeleine Gauthier at flight no. 4 posted a 6-1, 6-1 score followed by
Andrea Ivanovic who notched a 6-3, 6-2 win.
The Lions return to the road to continue action in the Sunshine State Conference. On Thursday, April 4 at 4 p.m. the No. 3 Saint Leo will face No. 43 Rollins in Winter Park, Fla.
