SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo sophomore
Alberto Castagnara was named to the All-Sunshine State Conference Second Team for the second straight year following up his 2018 honors.

The Pordenone, Italy native, leads the Lions on the year with a 72.17 stroke average in his 30 rounds of golf. Castagnara has six top-10 finishes with five top-five and one win, which came at the Miami Intercollegiate on Oct. 23, 2018 with a six-under 204.

Castagnara, who is ranked the 29th Division II golfer, helped guide Saint Leo men's golf to another NCAA regional appearance after the Green and Gold placed fifth at the Sunshine State Conference Championships with a 19-over 880. Castagnara tied for 20th, behind teammate
Oliver Lilliedahl, at five-over 221 after posting rounds of 76-74-71.

Saint Leo will take on the South/Southeast Regional field on May 9-11 after qualifying for the regional where the Lions will find out exactly who will join them when the NCAA releases the field later Friday afternoon.
