SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo beach volleyball team continued its momentum Saturday morning as the Lions extended their win streak to five-straight while moving to 6-0 at home. Saint Leo swept the visiting Tritons of Eckerd College, 5-0 and 4-1.

The pair of victories evened up the Lions season record at 8-8 while the Tritons fell to 1-17 in 2019.

Amber Lake and
Nina Vattovaz went 2-0 on the day at No. 1 for Saint Leo. The duo won 21-17, 21-13 in match one before rattling off a 21-17, 21-15 victory in match two. The No. 2 pair of
Brooke Turner and
Beka Wachob also went 2-0 on the day with a 21-14, 21-18 win in the first match and a 21-14, 21-16 victory in the second contest.

The No. 3 team of
Payton Bellano and
Anilise Fitzi went 1-1 after winning their opener 21-15, 21-18. The pair lost their second match 23-21, 21-17.

Arlaina Stephenson and
Annabella Arcari also went 2-0 at No. 4 The duo won 21-12, 14-21, 15-13 in the opening contest before taking down the Tritons in straight sets in match two 21-12, 21-16.

The Tritons did not have a No. 5 team so
Kirsten Kaiser and
Sam Bogdan picked up a pair of forfeit victories to secure points for the Lions.

Saint Leo will return to the sand Wednesday, April 3 against Tampa in their home finale at 3 p.m.
